Authority of the Believer -- Walk in Authority
What if the words we speak every single day are actually shaping the direction of our lives more than we realize? This message takes us deep into the truth of Proverbs 18:21, which tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and challenges us to reconsider how we use one of the most powerful tools we have been given. Just as God spoke light into existence and Jesus spoke Lazarus back from the dead, our words carry a creative and directional force that we often underestimate. The tongue is compared in James 3 to the rudder of a massive ship, a small instrument that determines the course of an enormous vessel. In the same way, the words we consistently speak are quietly steering our marriages, our families, our health, and our futures. The message does not ask us to deny the hard realities we face, but it does challenge us to stop declaring permanence over temporary struggles. We may be in a difficult season, but we do not have to stay there. When we replace our own anxious or negative words with the living Word of God and begin to declare it over our circumstances, something shifts. Faith rises. Direction changes. This is not wishful thinking; it is walking in the spiritual authority we have been given as believers.
