Dig Deeper

This powerful message centers on the story of Isaac from Genesis 26:18-22, where he reopens the wells his father Abraham had dug—wells that enemies had filled with dirt. The spiritual parallel is profound: just as the Philistines couldn't remove the water but could block access to it, our enemy cannot take away God's living water, but he can cover up our access to it. We're challenged to move beyond shallow faith—the kind that keeps us spiritually surviving but never truly thriving. Like digging for water in areas with high water tables, we might find surface-level spirituality that sustains us temporarily, but it's contaminated and unfulfilling. True spiritual nourishment comes from digging deep into an aquifer—a limitless source that never runs dry. This connects beautifully with Jesus's promise to the woman at the well in John 4:14, where He offers water that means we'll never thirst again. The question confronting us is whether we're willing to do the hard work of removing the obstacles, pushing through opposition, and digging past the shallow to reach the deep, pure presence of God that transforms everything.
